This is another Mirza holiday tradition and since we only make it once a year, we always use the good stuff! We usually whip up several batches to get us through the holidays — it's that good. And it also makes wonderful holiday gifts — just bottle it up and share the cheer.
Ingredients:
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup sugar
- Kosher salt
- ½ cup rum
- ¼ cup bourbon
- 2 tablespoons cognac
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks until they begin to lighten in color. Add the sugar and a pinch of kosher salt, and continue whisking until the mixture is thick and pale yellow.
Gradually whisk in the rum, bourbon, and cognac until fully incorporated.
Whisk in the milk, heavy cream, nutmeg, and vanilla until smooth and well combined.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
