This is one of my all-time favorite cocktails, and I’m so grateful to The Dutch in Soho for sharing their recipe with us!
Ingredients:
- 2 parts whiskey or rye
- 1 part fresh lemon juice
- 1 part simple syrup (made by stirring equal parts sugar and water until dissolved)
- 3 dashes peach bitters
- Red wine (for the float)
Instructions:
In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces of whiskey or bourbon, 1 ounce of fresh lemon juice, and 1 ounce of simple syrup.
Add ice, cover, and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker feels frosty, about 30 seconds.
Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice.
Gently pour ½ ounce of fruity red wine over the back of a spoon held just above the drink’s surface to create the signature red wine float.
Enjoy!
