This chocolate pot de crème recipe is one of my absolute favorites — it's foolproof, easy, and incredibly delicious. It’s a simple dessert that feels so luxurious, perfect for dinner parties or a cozy treat at home. I first found this recipe from Jamie Oliver, and it’s been a go-to ever since. Rich, silky, and just the right amount of indulgent!
Ingredients:
- 275 ml heavy cream
- 200 g semisweet chocolate, chopped with a serrated knife
- 2 large egg yolks
- 3 tablespoons cognac
- 20 g butter
Instructions:
Heat the cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer and small bubbles form around the edges. Remove from the heat and let it sit for 1 minute.
Add the chopped chocolate to the warm cream and stir gently until fully melted and smooth. Once the chocolate has melted, stir in the egg yolks and cognac until well combined.
Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the butter and stir until the mixture is smooth and silky.
Pour into individual serving pots or small cups. Chill before serving.
Tip:
If you add the butter when the chocolate is too hot, the mixture may separate. If that happens, let it cool and gradually stir in a little cold milk until it becomes smooth again.
